You may notice that most of these pins on the map appear to be brokerages. Individual real estate agents, too, though, can have their own pins on the map, making it a super useful and easy way to stand out from the crowd. 

3. Real estate is a hyperlocal industry.

It’s all about location. Showing up on Google Maps is just another way to showcase your digital prowess, while cementing the idea that you’re the best in your area.

Your competition is not all of the other real estate agents in the country; it’s the real estate agents in your specific geographic area. This concept is key to your digital marketing. Putting time, effort and money behind things like this — that may seem like a waste of time — is really how you get ahead of your competitors.
